Abstract thought is impossible without the use of analogy, which is why I love using nature as a metaphor to create contemplative works that in the process of creating, transcend the physical world.

Like symbolism, the metaphorical process is perception without the senses, where intellectual realities are spiritual states.

In order for the the metaphorical process to work, you must compare two seemingly different subjects and contemplate the similarity between them. It challenges the viewer to participate in the process of creating the connections that contribute to the meaning of it.
